What Huggu Does

Huggu is a warm greeting service that lets you send illustrated bear hugs by email. You compose a personal message, choose a bear character, optionally send it anonymously, and Huggu delivers a delightful animated greeting page to the recipient by email.

Your Account

You must create an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Huggu.

Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use Huggu to send content that is:

• Hateful, discriminatory, or promoting violence against any person or group
• Abusive, harassing, or threatening toward any recipient
• Sexual or sexually explicit in nature
• Spam, commercial solicitation, or bulk unsolicited messaging
• Impersonation of another person, company, or brand
• Illegal or otherwise harmful

Violations may result in immediate account suspension and may be reported to relevant authorities.

Anonymous Sending

Huggu allows you to send greetings without revealing your name to the recipient. When you send anonymously, your display name is hidden from the recipient, but your account identity is stored internally. Anonymous sending does not prevent abuse investigation or legal process. Recipients can still report anonymous greetings.

Recipient Unsubscribe

Every greeting email includes an unsubscribe link. Recipients can unsubscribe at any time to stop receiving Huggu greeting emails. Once unsubscribed, their email address is added to our suppression list and no further emails will be sent.

Intellectual Property

Huggu's brand, character illustrations, and service content are owned by or licensed to Huggu. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent. The personal message you write remains yours; you grant us the necessary rights to deliver it as part of the service.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, for abusive conduct, or as required by law. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your ability to send greetings will cease; greeting pages already delivered to recipients may remain accessible.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Huggu is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every email will be delivered successfully.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Huggu shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the service, including but not limited to undelivered emails or emotional reliance on the service.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Switzerland.

Data Processors

Huggu uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Vercel — web hosting and infrastructure

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email of material changes and ask for your renewed consent if required. Continued use of Huggu after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
